Dear Friend: I am writing on the behalf of the children in our community whose tender lives have been challenged early on with illness, abuse, neglect. As you may know, I have dedicated my life to children as a mother, a grandmother, and as an active philanthropist here in the Palm Beach area. In 1997, I created the Angels of Charity, Inc., a not-for-profit organization operated by some 40 local businesses, professionals, and charitable women. By naming our group after Heaven's gracious beings, we aspire to do good works to benefit children. Our job is to raise funds for the area's children's charities. We need your support. Our administrative costs are largely underwritten, with the result that over 99% of all contributions go to the worthy local causes. We know of no other charity which can make that statement. As you may be aware, there is a pressing need for a dedicated children's hospital in our area to provide needed care for the little ones who require medical treatment. We have been presented with a wonderful opportunity to join the Lifelines Campaign of Intracoastal Health Systems to help fund the Richard and Pat Johnson Children's Hospital at St Mary's. Imagine, a true children's hospital in our community for our children. The opportunities to help, to heal, to grow, are limitless. The Angels of Charity have committed to making this happen. We humbly ask your financial support to make it happen sooner, rather than later. The reason is simple; one life saved or improved is worth our efforts. Your donation at this time to our 1998-1999 fundraising campaign would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for your support. God Bless You. Best Personal Regards, Dorothy A. Sullivan |
